This month, travel with a jewelry twist is a theme that has captured our imaginations.

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” – Saint Augustine

Custom jewelry designer and Solidscape user Sarah Michiko shared this quote on Instagram along with one of her rings in a photo from Cozumel, Mexico. Sarah is well known for highlighting her travels in her posts, from mountains in the distance, castles at Disney World, or the Mayan ruins adding a unique flair in photos of her ring designs.

Dreaming about warmer weather

Also this month, jewelry designer and Youtuber Pablo Cimadevila shared a beautiful video giving an airborne tour of Galicia, Spain, where he lives. The unique jewelry twist in this video is Pablo brought his jewelry bench along on the tour of scenic sights. We love the view of him hard at work in the sunshine!

“You know, I love my studio and I love [to] make jewels there. But sometimes I need more space.” – Pablo Cimadevila

Solidscape is curious: If you could take your bench or jewelry anywhere in the world, where would you go? Is there a special place that inspires you in your jewelry design? Let us know by posting about it on Instagram and using hashtag the #Solidscape!

Our customer saw the cheetah bangle from our Facebook page and contacted us asking if we could make a bangle of her bengal cat, Azi. Working from photos provided by our customer Tim spent around 10 hours ensuring he captured the look of Azi perfectly in the CAD design of the bangle. Next stage we built the cat head in wax for our customers approval which, once confirmed, was then cast into yellow gold. The design of the bangle uses a hinge fastening for the wearer to take it on and off. Our goldsmith spent around 3 hours building and fitting the hinge by hand. The markings on the bengal are defined using oxidisation. This blackens the recessed areas enhancing the details and markings. Once oxidised Azi’s eyes and mouth were hand enamelled by our goldsmith with special attention taken on his green eyes. A final polish and our bengal Azi is ready to go home. . . . . . .#cheetah #cheetahbangle #gold #handmade #westsussex #chichester #bengalcat #enamel #bigcat #bespokebangle #goldbangle #personal #sentimental #workshop
